Helen stood still. Then she smiled like she finally understood the letters Anne signed in her hand meant something. W-A-T-E-R was the name of the liquid she felt! She grabbed Anne’s hand as if she was eager to learn more names of objects that she knew only by touch and smell.

Fiona and Finley ran all around Ivy Green as Helen made more discoveries. There was so much about language that they had taken for granted.

“What Mom said makes sense now,” Fiona said. “Look at the joy in overcoming obstacles!”

When they took a break to play with Helen’s dog, the older versions of Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller appeared.

“Thank you for bringing us here,” Finley said. He was ready to get back to work at the Sweets Shop and make the most of his situation.
